A beautiful sterling silver Armada Dish.

These wonderful examples of English Silver are based on the shape of plates seized from the Spanish treasure ships by Drake during the Spanish Armada in 1588.

Somehow the original plundered dishes were given to Sir Christopher Harris, probably to thank him for his service in the sea battle. It is now thought that these original dishes were buried by his descendants during the civil war because they were dug up in a field in Devon and are now on show at the British Museum.

The smallest dish, pictured, measures 3" (aprox. 8cm) across and is approximately 4cm deep.

They make very good wedding presents, and can be used for a variety of things, including serving dishes, ash trays or butter dishes.

We can supply these dishes in many different sizes so please do contact us for a quote, because the silver price is liable to change.

The dishes come plain, but if you would like initials, as pictured, a date or a crest engraved please let us know and we will quote you.
